Early in the morning, we drive to El Questro Wilderness Park, where we will discover one of the many gorges during a short hike. The journey continues along the Great Northern Highway, between the Durack Range and the Carr Boyd Range, heading toward Wyndham. The Five Rivers Lookout in Wyndham, the northernmost town in Western Australia, offers a spectacular view of the Ord, Forrest, King, Durack, and Pentecost Rivers, the Cambridge Gulf, as well as the surrounding mangrove swamps and tidal flats. Depending on the season, we will visit Marglu Billabong in the Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve, a bird sanctuary home to over 20,000 birds. “The Grotto” is the name of an idyllic swimming hole located at the beginning of a short but picturesque gorge. Surrounded by steep rock walls, the pool is fed by a 15-meter-high waterfall during the rainy season. Return drive to Kununurra.
